The high-quality lecture and seminar program at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival will feature, for the first time, the international Kaustinen ICH (Intangible Cultural Heritage) Academy study program. All lectures and seminars are free of charge and open to everyone. The seminars and the morning ICH Academy lectures will later be available as recordings on the Finnish Folk Music Institute's YouTube channel.
The Kaustinen ICH Academy program is mainly targeted to both Finnish and international folk music and cultural heritage students, scholars, and others active in the field. The program offers a variety of perspectives from Finnish and international experts on safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. Kaustinen Fiddle Playing, inscribed in the Unesco Representative List of the ICH of Humanity, is presented by experts and local heritage bearers with practical examples. The program will culminate in the 4th International Kaustinen Intangible Cultural Heritage Seminar with the theme "Culture 2030 Campaign – global impact through community actions."

There’s no culture goal among the 17 goals of the United Nations’ sustainable development Agenda 2030. To amend the situation, a long-lasting international campaign has been going on, and the national Finnish campaign was inaugurated earlier this year. The seminar handles the importance of an independent culture goal for the future of humanity and the role that living heritage and traditional music can have in implementing it. Music is offered by Kaustinen Näppärit and Antti Paalanen with his friends. Livestream broadcasts in Folk Music Institutes Youtube channel.

Piia Kleemola-Välimäki: valokeilassa kaksi kiinnostavaa pioneeria. Emmi Salonen (1890–1985) ja Tyyne Vanha-Villamo (1901–1990) ovat eteläpohjalaisten viulupelimannien soittotyylin tutkimushankkeen aineiston ainoat naispuoliset pelimannit, joiden soittoa löytyy äänitteinä. Luennolla havainnollistetaan arkistonauhojen sekä henkilöhistorioiden kautta heidän soittotyylejään, repertoaariaan sekä naispelimannin roolia eteläpohjalaisessa kyläyhteisössä.
